  • Gabi is a junior Statistics and Data Science major from Blauvelt, NY, and is serving as the President of BSC this year. Outside of classes, she also works at Yale's Afro-American Cultural Center, the Dean's Office, and tutors in Math. She is looking forward to adding some new components to BSC, and also making sure this year's conference embodies all the ideas and passions of this year's diverse board!

  • Selihom is a current junior from Aurora, Colorado majoring in the History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health on a Pre-Medical track! She is passionate about community engagement and involvement, namely within the Black diaspora, which is why this is her third year on board. She loved meeting new people last year, both attendees and students alike, and is excited to continue to do the same this year. When she isn't working on BSC, you can find her dancing, decorating her room, or watching a TV show in any given library.

  • Kadija Nabe (she/her) is a junior hailing from Gaithersburg, MD, majoring in Economics with a Certificate in French. As the Head of Marketing and Outreach this year, she is really looking forward to expanding outreach for the conference across the country. She hopes to cultivate an enriching experience and build a supportive network for black students through the diversity in students coming to the conference. She can't wait to meet everyone and celebrate her black identity.

  • Hi! My name is Lauren and I’m the head of the Speakers Committee. I’m a senior studying Global Affairs from Chicago, IL. I’m looking forward to meeting all the amazing speakers and attendees this year!

  • Ashanti Bruce is a senior from Brooklyn, New York. She is double-majoring in both Political Science and African American Studies. She serves on the Marketing and Outreach Committee and is excited to celebrate black identity!

  • I am a second-year from Dover, DE, double majoring in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry and History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health. I am apart of the Marketing and Outreach committee on BSC, and I am excited to help create a safe-space on campus for cultivating Black leaders.

  • Aminata Kamara is a first-year in Jonathan Edwards college. She is of West-African heritage. She joined the board to meet with more black college students in the US and build a more connected community.

  • My name is Madelynn Huff, and I joined the board to amplify Black voices in higher education. I think that the Black Solidarity Conference is an incredible opportunity for a diverse swath of Black people to unify under their shared identity as college students. I love settings like this where unity is created in a way that complements individuality. I look forward to learning from the amazing people I will meet in preparation for and during the conference. I am so excited to be a part of the board!

  • Evan Bowman '26 serves on the BSC Speakers Committee and is a History of Medicine and Science Major from Los Angeles, California. She resides in Timothy Dwight College and is looking forward to having many fruitful discussions and joyful events at BSC this year!

  • Hi everyone! My name is Leah Dayan and I am from Springfield, VA. I am a sophomore in Branford and I plan on majoring in Biochemistry and Biophysics. One thing I am excited for this year is to reconnect with my friends and get to meet new people! I joined the BSC because I never got the opportunity to engage in conversations about the black community and topics in my high school, so to have the opportunity to help people have these conversations that Yale has helped me have would be amazing!

  • Kalkidan (she/her) is a junior in Morse from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She is on the Finance and Sponsorship Committee and is looking forward to this year's conversations and community-building!

  • Alanah is a senior majoring in the History of Science, Medicine and Public Health from Dallas, TX! She is so excited to join the BSC Board and serve on the finance committee. For this conference, Alanah is looking forward to centering care and joy in Black life!

  • Nakia (she/her) is the Head of Events & Logistics for BSC. A Miami native, she is currently a junior at Yale double majoring in Urban Studies and Economics. While she is looking forward to all of the BSC 2024 programming, she is most excited for the several arts and talent-related events during this years conference and aims to be the loudest “WOO!” in the audience.

  • Dominique is a junior from Knoxville, TN double majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and History of Science, Medicine, and Public Health with a certificate in French. She is head of the Finance committee and is super excited to help plan events that not only facilitate important conversations within the Black community, but also bring us closer together.

  • Julia Oladipo is a senior in Davenport College. The daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Julia strives to integrate and celebrate her culture in multiple spaces across campus. She is majoring with Neuroscience, with a certificate in French. Interested in the nexus of these topics, she hopes to use her varied interests to combat health issues on the African continent. Julia has been on the BSC Board since her first year, and cultivating community through BSC each year has been an integral part of her Yale experience. Outside of academics, Julia enjoys visiting museums, language learning, and meeting new people! Julia is inexpressibly excited to see BSC come to fruition this year!

  • I am a first year in Silliman college. I am a generational African American and I am from East Providence, Rhode Island. I intend to major in Psychology and possibly obtain a certificate in either Education Studies, Kiswahili, or Human Rights. Aside from BSC, I am apart of Yale Gospel Choir, Yale Concert Band and Competitive Club Roundnet. I am also writing for the Yale Human Rights Journal this fall! I joined the board to work with those that look like me in a way that creates unity amongst us. I can’t wait to hear other people’s perspectives on racial issues as well as learn each person’s unique experience with Blackness in their own lives.

  • Hello! My name is Grace Dossou and I’m a junior in Pauli Murray. I’m majoring in MCDB on the pre-med track. I’m from North Carolina but originally from Benin. I joined the BSC board because I really loved the intent and commitment everyone put in to have such a great conference last year and I wanted to be a part of it! I’m looking forward to working with this amazing team!

  • My name is Lidia Ghirmay (She/Her/Hers) and I'm a first-year in Jonathan Edwards College. I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada and I'm a tentative neuroscience major on the pre-med track. I'm on the events & logistics committee, and I joined the BSC Board because I love sustaining and creating Black communities which is an aspect I'm excited about for this year.

  • I am a junior in Trumbull majoring in History. I am on the Speakers Committee and this year in BSC I am looking forward to the opportunity to foster meaningful new relationships and have productive conversations that strengthen our community.

  • Miette is a junior from New York City majoring in Political Science. She is on the Finance Committee and is excited to work on a conference dedicated to uplifting black voices.

  • My name is Wally Aman and I am on the Finance committee! I’m from Chicago and I am a first year in JE. I joined the BSC board because I wanted to be a part of an initiative that is designed to foster community snd support. I am excited to hear from the speakers and see everyone at the conference.
